Freeze Warning:
Follow "Before we Arrive" steps above and cover the vacuum breaker on the outside of the house if the temperature is expected to go below 25 degrees before we winterize your system. We recommend covering your back flow with a blanket or insulation to protect it. If you are unsure of the location of the back flow, please call the office for assistance.
Warranty:
Our warranty is a 100% guarantee on all labor and parts are for two years. First Impressions is proud to provide you with the security of offering a "Extended Service Agreement" contract. Simply sign this agreement with First Impressions to handle your spring start-up, fall winterization, and all service work.
As long as First Impressions continues to perform all work associated with your system, the parts in your system will be guaranteed against manufacture failure for as long as you own the system. Labor to replace parts or repair your system is not covered and will be charged. Warranty does not cover weather related repairs, negligence or misuse by the Owner or a third party, or acts of God.
Maintenance:
Existing irrigation systems occasionally need checkups. As time goes on, and your landscaping grows, your water supply changes. During a "tune up" service call, we can optimize your system and take care of problems that include moving heads or renozzling to cure dry or wet spots. We are able to make the necessary adjustments for mature or changed landscaping and pressure test your system for optimal head and pump performance. We service all makes and models.
How Much do I Need to Water?
While everyone's lawn and soil is different, most lawns require 1 to 1 1/2 inches of water per week. It is best to irrigate heavily and infrequently (about three times a week). Large turf heads that shoot a single stream of water and rotate should run 2 to 3 times longer than spray heads to get equal precipitation amounts. The best time to water is from 4AM to 8AM. Check your city codes for water bans on which days and times are acceptable. This time of day will typically give you the best coverage without disruption from the wind or evaporation from the sun. During times of drought you may need to increase the amount of water and an occasional evening watering may be beneficial. CAUTION: Most people OVERWATER. This leads to possible disease and crabgrass, along with an unhealthy lawn and costly water bills.
